How To Clean Cat Urine From Leather Clothing

This article is appropriate for removing cat urine from leather jackets, leather coats and leather pants.

If you have previously dry cleaned your leather clothing in a vain attempt to remove the cat urine and failed you will probably not be successful.

Before you start your cleaning project ensure that you have the necessary supplies readily available. We recommend that you have several clean absorbent towels. We strongly encourage you to use a black light which is readily available at your local Home Depot.

Start by ensuring that the product and the leather garment to be cleaned of cat urine are both within the recommended temperature range. This is easily accomplished by placing both the leather garment and the ProKlean™ Leather Cleaner in the room where you intend to do the cleaning.

Make a bed of the towels by laying them flat one on top of the other. The more you have the better. We recommend clean towels as the cat urine will be transferred to the clean towels.

Lay your leather garment on the towels and slowly wave the black light over your leather garment. Either take mental notes as to where the cat urine is or mark it down on a writing pad. Do not start cleaning the garment yet. It is very important that you familiarize yourself with the leather garment and where the cat urine actually is.

Set the sprayer according to our instructions.

ProKlean™ products are odorless the more urine you are dealing with the stronger the odor that will be released upon application. This verifies the product is working and will dissipate quickly.

Spray the garment from the inside according to the map that you made of the cat urine. Gravity will pull the ProKlean™ Leather Cleaner thru the leather garment passing thru to the towels. Take your time and make sure that you have sprayed all of the cat urine.

The leather garment will dry quickly and no further cleaning is necessary.

Throw the cat urine soiled towels into the washer using cold water and they should clean up nicely.
